Frédéric Mitterrand, Minister of Culture and Communication, along with President Jacques Chirac, during the launch of a cycle of talks aimed at architecture students on the use of legal and certified timber on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., at the Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine.
These conferences, sponsored by the architect Jean Nouvel, recipient of the 2008 Pritzker Prize, will begin at the start of the 2010 academic year in the twenty national architecture schools under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture and Communication. Throughout the year, conferences will be offered to 20,000 architect students. These conferences will be based on field experiences and facts on the different aspect of timber certification. The goal is to raise awareness among future architectes for sustainable global forest management.
