Conference at Phnom Penh about falsified medicines
|On April 6, 2011 at the French Cultural Centre in Phnom Penh (Cambodia), a conference was held on the issue of “counterfeiting”in general.|
The conference went well beyond the issue of counterfeit objects and addressed the problem of falsified antimalarial medicines – a core issue in the efforts of the Fondation Chirac.
Despite representing a major development challenge, the traffic of falsified medicines has rarely been addressed until recently. It has increasingly appeared in current debates – one of the goals of the Cotonou Declaration, initiated by Jacques Chirac two years ago.
