The IFPMA is a Geneva-based NGO founded in 1968. It brings together both pharmaceutical companies and health associations to improve public health conditions. It does so by representing its members in dialogue with international organizations and Geneva-based missions of national governments. The city is home to many of these institutions, in particular, the headquarters of the World Health Organization.
Just as with the Fondation Chirac, one of the key issues tackled by the IFPMA is the falsification of drugs. By making this video, the IFPMA hopes to raise awareness among the largest public possible.
Professor Gentilini, Managing Director of the Fondation, stated that in terms of the traffic of falsified medicines, “mobilizing public opinion is a vital link. Without public support, nothing efficient nor sustainable is possible. It is necessary if we want to control the traffic; without it no lasting solution can be found. ”
