The Fondation Chirac, new member of FWP
Since 2010, February, the Fondation Chirac is a member of the French Water Partnership (FWP).
Created on March, 22, 2007 on the occasion of World Water Day, FWP brings together the French water stakeholders: local governments, NGO’s, associations and foundations, private companies, public organizations, the French state, technical and scientific organizations. Altogether, they agree to develop the FWP’s program of action, in particular by taking part in its working groups, wether thematic (sanitation, local governance, etc…) or event-based (World Water Forums, Commission on Sustainable Development, etc…).
As the Fondation Chirac does, FWP gives priority to:
- Access to sanitation for everyone
- Making access to water and sanitation an effective right for all
- Integrated water resource management’s territory: the Rive-Basin
- A double challenge for agriculture: feed the world and protect water ecosystems
- Long-term financing for sustainable water management
- Water and climate change: better management and adaptation
- From humanitarian emergency to development, water and sanitation are a priority for the populations.
