Counterfeit medical products: the domain of organized crime but also of “small time” criminals

Counterfeit medical products constitute a lucrative trade in full expansion that concerns 10% of the world medical market according to the WHO. Though it is more profitable than the illegal drug trade, counterfeiters risk much lighter sentences, even though legislation does exist to punish them. A notable exception would be certain African countries where there is an utter legal void in terms of counterfeit products.

Conflict Prevention in 2015

In 2015, the Fondation Chirac will award its 7th Prize for Conflict Prevention and Prize Culture for Peace. This is a timely reminder to take a look at world security in terms of the number of conflicts.

FRANCOIS HOLLANDE, THE PRESIDENT OF THE FRENCH REPUBLIC, AND PRESIDENT JACQUES CHIRAC, ALONG WITH THE FONDATION CHIRAC JURY MEMBERS WERE ALL IN ATTENDANCE.
