Areas of action
Building lasting peace
Currently, access to natural resources, water, and healthcare have the potential to be the source of violent conflicts between populations and nations.

• Water is dangerous to the health of thousands of men, women and children
• The polluted environment in which they live is dangerous
• Counterfeit medication is dangerous
• Deserts expand and conflicts for fertile land multiply
• Forests and the populations living therein are threatened
• As they disappear, their collective memory, so precious for future generations, runs the risk of being erased
And yet, efficient, low cost solutions exist for:
• access to clean water and sanitation (See the program)
• access to quality medication and healthcare (See the program)
• the safeguarding of forests and the struggle against expanding deserts (See the program)
• the preservation of cultural diversity (See the program)
This is why the Fondation Chirac fights to:
• Infomr the world about the threats that are weighing on the environment and the daily lives of certain populations
• Alert leaders at the highest levels of the urgency of targeted action to prevent conflicts
• Ensure better access to clean water, healthcare, food safety
• Protecting the environment and the diversity of the world’s cultures
• Diffuse practical solutions
