On November 6, 2009, the Fondation Chirac awarded its first Conflict Prevention Prize.
- The Fondation Chirac Prize went to Imam Muhammad Ashafa and to Pastor James Wuye for their efforts in Nigeria;
- the Special Jury Prize went to Dr. Park Jae-Kyu for his work on the Korean peninsula.

On May 3, 2009, his Highness the Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of Qatar invited President Chirac to help open the 9th Doha Forum for Democracy, Development, Free Trade.
While there, Jacques Chirac took the opportunity to visit the Qatar Foundation for education, science and research, and community development, created in 1995 by his Excellence Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, emir of Qatar and today led by the Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al-Missned, the Emir’s wife. The Qatar Foundation for education, science and research, and community development and Jacque Chirac’s own foundation have decided to work together.

Jacques Chirac’s three day trip to China will afford the former President the chance to return to a country he holds dear and to maintain Franco-Chinese relations. He will meet the President of the Republic, Hu Jintao, with whom he will dine on April 28.

On March 27, 2009, the French Foundation for the Memory of the Holocaust launched the Aladdin Project at Unesco, Paris. As one of the patron of the project, Jacques Chirac delivered a speech against revisionism and signed the Call to Conscience, initiated by the Aladdin Project.
Water for Peace - Peace for Water, November 13, 2008
The Fifth World Water Forum will be held in Istanbul in March 2009. A few months prior, the Fondation Chirac, Unesco and the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) are organizing “L’Eau pour la Paix, la Paix pour l’Eau” (Water for Peace and Peace for Water). This conference on water resources will be held Thursday, November 13, 2008 in Paris.
The Launch of the fondation Chirac, June 9, 2009
The fondation Chirac officially launched its work in favour of peace June 9th, 2008 at the Quai Branly in Paris. President Jacques Chirac and the members of the Honor Committee used this opportunity to present the mission of the foundation. With the support of international experts, it intends to conduct concrete and transposable projects in various regions of the world.
