This week the A.S.H.P.A.N. (Association pour la Survie de l’Héritage culturel du Peuple Autochtone Nyindu), from the Democratic Republic of Congo, brings us a desciption sheet on Kinyindu, a Bantu language (Niger-Congo family).

Mathew Deo adds information to the Taï Kadai language family with a personal account on the vitality of his language, Tay Don (or White Tay).

  • The 23rd conference on East Asian Linguistics ends tonight at the EHESS, Paris. And there’s one more evening left for those who wish to attend the 10th international conference on Portuguese and Spanish Lexically Based Creole Languages, organized by the LLACAN laboratory and held on the CNRS Campus in Paris, also closing its doors tonight.
  • Call for paper deadline for the 25th Iowa Culture and Language Conference on August 5, 2010!
  • Abstracts for the CUNY conference on the phonology of endangered languages should be submitted by September 1, 2010. The conference will be held next January in NYC.
  • The 3rd international summer University on language description and documentation starts next week, and will go on from July 5 to 17, 2010, Leiden University, Netherlands.
